Breaking The Habit

Sick of contradictions, championing repetetive crap and the fact that its become an immense rip-off (now a whole 70 pages!) I have kicked my £2 a week habit and stopped buying NME. With occasional relapses whenever there's a free CD. I do like my free CDs.

This cheapskate attitude may explain my new music magazine choice. Well choice for this week, I bought Uncut this week (free CD and sister magazine to NME) and on payday next week I will try out Q. Its the first step in picking a constant magazine, though Uncut's free CD every month promises to keep me there even if the magazine is awful. 16 tracks lasting just over 1 hour for the princely sum of £4.10. Lots of good on here too, 4 of the bands I've heard of. That gives 12 artists I'm hearing for the first time without constant hopping between MySpace pages.
